I've raised £35000 to assist with the costs of private prosthetic limbs, and vital equipment that will be needed for Kim to regain some independence.

On the 29th November our lives changed forever. Mum contracted a kidney infection and what happened after has been absolutely shattering.
We’ve all been through hell and back. Our amazing, beautiful Mum was diagnosed with Sepsis - a deadly and very serious illness. Sepsis is the bodies response to an over whelming infection. She is very very lucky to be alive. Originally, she was given just 6 hours to live. 3 months on and she's still fighting.
Mum spent a gruelling 9 weeks in Intensive Care and is still in hospital now. Subsequently she has encountered significant effects of the treatment and medications received. Mum heartbreakingly lost circulation in all four limbs to protect her vital organs, and all four limbs have since been amputated. Our lives will never be the same.
Already as a family we are frightened about what the future will bring, her independence and how she will manage.
Mum has been nothing but brave and heroic throughout, she is thankful for her life and so are we as a family.
The NHS can only provide a basic level of prosthetics. My plea to all of you is to understand and donate what ever you can to help Mum to be able to live some what of an independent life again.
I’m sharing her story so people don’t take illnesses and infections in vain, if you feel unwell please go and see your GP or attend a local walk in centre. Please don’t let this happen to your family.

Mum is now home after nearly 6 and a half months in various hospitals and a rehabilitation centre. We are completely overwhelmed with the kindness and generosity people have shown.
Following a consultation with Dorset Orthopaedic, Mum has selected Open Bionic prosthetic hands. These hands come at a cost of nearly £15,000 EACH!!
We’re are surprised at this cost after initially being told they are roughly £5,000 each.
We’re are continuing to do all we can for fundraising and support.
Thank you so much to everyone who is still continuing to donate.
