Story
The committee of Kickhams GAC Creggan are organising one major fundraiser in 2018 – a cycling event called ‘Pedal the Pond’. This event will act as a major charity fundraiser and will also raise funds to help the club grow and develop. This event follows on from our event in 2017 when we helped to raise over £10,000 for local needy charities.
On 12th August 2018, it is our intention to have upwards of 120 cyclists completing either a minor route of 50 miles or an advanced route of 100 miles. This challenging and inclusive one day cycle event will leave from the club grounds, travel around Lough Neagh and return home again to Creggan for a celebration event.
One of the major goals of the cycle is to raise funds for charities that have been chosen by our local community and these charities include:
* Cancer Fund for Children
* Marie Curie
* Aware NI – a charity that helps people deal with mental health issues such as depression
* Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust
*Mae Murray Foundation
*The National Society for Phenylketonuria
