Story
I'm a Spanish photographer who visited Khayelitsha slum last March.
Khayelitsha was created during apartheid regime to segregate and discriminate black population. Today, even though regime is officially finished, consequences still present in South African black population.
As a part of a project trying to help the community in different ways, this funding campaign aims to provide a direct, straight forward solution to the problems derived from apartheid era in South Africa; specifically in Khayelitsha slum.
Currently, Khayelitsha is one of the biggest tuberculosis focus in the world, unemployment rates are about 50%, crime and unhealthy living conditions create a really difficult context for kids and teenagers to overcome it's community problems and have the possibility to search for a job which will allow them to get a better live conditions.
COSAT, Centre of Science and Technology, is providing educational solutions for young locals to progress and find a job which will make their lifes better.
Funds will be used to provide new materials, such as computers, notepads, pens and everything necessary for the good development of the students.
Thanks for your help! :)
