Story

Hi all, we are raising money for the purchase and installation of a new state of the art defibrillator for use in the local areas, Pheasey, Park Farm and Nether Hall estates. Monies raised will also go towards training local volunteers. Any money raised over the target/cost of purchase/install/training will be donated to a heart charity.

There are defibrillators situated at The Collingwood centre and also at Great Barr school which is brilliant, but nothing on the west side of Beacon Road up on to Park Farm and Nether Hall and the extra time needed to travel to these other locations could literally be the difference between life and death. Almost every member of the local community could benefit from having a defibrillator on their doorstep.

We have spoken to The Cat & Fiddle about having the defibrillator installed on the outside of their premises to which they are very positive and are waiting for a response from Greene King brewery, but have a number of other locations in mind if not.

We understand that money is hard earned and lots of causes are asking for help, but a donation for this, no matter how small could really be a life saver and will be appreciated enormously.

We are raising the money and installing the defibrillator in memory of local man Peter Cronan who passed away on Wednesday 16/08/2017 aged 71. Pete was a well loved family man, always cheery with a friendly smile, well mannered and a pleasure to be around. He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.
