Story

Brass Bands England CEO, Kenny Crookston, is taking on a mammoth cycling challenge on Sunday 28th May 2023 to raise valuable funds for the Brass Foundations Project. Kenny will be cycling a whopping 100 miles through the heart of London, into Essex, riding towards a spectacular finish at the iconic Tower Bridge as part of the RideLondon-Essex 100 Challenge. Here's what Kenny had to say:

"Brass Foundations is a truly fantastic initiative; providing opportunity, resources and access to the arts for children and young people who may not be fortunate enough to otherwise benefit.

The benefits of learning music at a young age are vast and hugely significant and I want to give as many children and young people as possible the opportunity to pick up a musical instrument and learn.

I think people often forget that Brass Bands England is a charitable organisation and we need to fundraise to support our Brass Foundations service which supports so many young people throughout the year. I’m looking forward to the 100 mile ride, although it’s some years now since I took on a challenge of this size. We’d be so grateful for any donations people would like to spare and the funds will be put to excellent use!"
