I've raised £5000 to help fund a New Generation style power chair for Kenny to support his independence for the future

Youngest of our kids, Emily-Jane eldest and big sis followed by big brother Charlie.
Kenny will turn 21 on the 5/4 and is currently studying in the Belfast Met with an access course in biological sciences leading to study Zoology at QUB.
Those who know Kenny, his character, a never give up positive attitude even through the really tough times he has encountered and continues to face, a remarkable resilience and outlook to life, an ability to find humour in most things and a maturity beyond his young age.
While this is all true there are hardships for Kenny which make being independent difficult!. We are modifying our house in April to meet more of his needs, but Kenny also needs to have the ability to get safely to and from College or Uni to be able to get on and off public transport, to travel to go out with his friends etc and all without having to have his “old foggies” doing this for him!!
Currently, the manual wheelchair is fine for internal use but is less safe and restricitve in many outdoor settings. So, we want him to have his independence and dignity going forward and are therefore looking to set up this support funding of a New Generation style power vehicle for him.
Our good friend David Craig is running a 28 mile endurance race in the Northumberland Countryside in a few weeks. Any monies he can raise to support Kenny will go towards our goal for helping provide him this chair.
Kenny is swimming 3 times a week currently and building up his stamina to be able to swim 21 lengths in time for his 21 st birthday.
We also intend running a few other events and will update as these are due, in the run up to Kennys 21st birthday and then hold one hell of a party for people to join us celebrate with him!
