    Story

    ‘Tour de Tour’

On the 01 June 2019, a team of parents have volunteered to cycle from Amber Valley Rugby Club to Skegness. That’s 90miles in one day!

The team of cyclists are Mark Hollett, Dave Thornton and Nigel Upton. They will cycle 90miles from the club in Somercotes, Derbyshire to the east coast town of Skegness, Lincolnshire. As you can appreciate this is a massive task to undertake. Training is currently fully underway.

The coaches and parents of the U11-12s team would like to give their committed players a chance to go on tour in 2020. This will mean entering one of the professionally organised sports tour events throughout the UK. The U11-12’s team will have the opportunity to play lots of other teams from around the country, it will be an experience they will never forget. The money we raise will help pay for the rugby tour entry fee for each child, accommodation, transport, food and kit.

These amazing kids turn up each week, rain or shine to take part in their chosen sport of rugby. The season runs from Sept-May, and each week they play games against other teams across East Midlands. Once the season is over training continues throughout the summer months. The commitment, dedication and determination that these youngsters have for the game and their club is incredible. Plus they are amazing little tough nuts!

If you would like to sponsor us we would be extremely grateful for anything you can spare.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story.
