Story
Dear friends and family,
On Christmas morning last year, I excitedly opened my present from Steve and pulled out of some bad wrapping, a paper aeroplane . . . OMG I thought . . . he has brought us a holiday! Unwrapping my second present though it soon became clear Steve had stuck to the form that has previously brought such festive joy as a wok, a spatula, and cooking lessons . . . it was a toy skydiver.
That’s right – I am doing a skydive! On Sunday (September 2nd)! Apparently, I once said I quite fancied doing one whilst watching ‘I’m a celebrity get me out of here!’ although I think it might have been in comparison to munching a kangaroo anus or laying in a coffin with spiders. Is he doing it with me? No. His response to such an innocent question – ‘absolutely not, Nolah still needs one parent if it all goes wrong’. Wonderful.
Joking aside though, as it stands I am really panicking about it and I think the only way I’m going to be able to jump out of that plane is if it has a bigger meaning.
I would like to raise money for two causes. Firstly, St Luke’s Hospice. This wonderful charity provided much solace my friends Keeley and Geoff and their family during the sad passing of their mother-in-law/mother after a two-year battle with cancer. My heart would break for them and their family as I heard updates on Alli’s condition, and I would like to do this to raise money to help others going through a similar experience.
Secondly, I would like to do this for the children I work with at my Dance School. They inspire me every week with their dedication to, and enthusiasm for, dance and gymnastics but are currently working hard to learn different flips and tricks on hard floors or grass. I would like to use some money raised to buy an inflatable running track to help these children progress as safely as possible.
I really hope you will support me in doing this, but as one final plea, if I am able to reach my target I will share the video of me – in full – on social media or with you privately. So, for a very small donation you will be contributing to some very public embarrassment for me . . . a bargain right!?
Thanks in advance everyone.
Love,
Kelly x
