Iʼve raised £1,035 to bless Sanyu Babies Home, Kampala, Uganda

Funded on Saturday, 17th August 2019

    Story

This summer, we are heading out to the Sanyu Babies Home in Kampala, Uganda. Sanyu Babies Home is a Christian organisation taking care of abandoned children. They care for up to 50 babies and toddlers aged between 1 day old and 4 years. Many of the children are found abandoned in rubbish heaps, pit latrines (long drop toilets), ditches, taxi parks or are left by the side of the road.

This is the latest member of Sanyu… his name is Ian and he was found on the 26th March 2019 at just 1 day old. He was found abandoned at the bottom of a pit latrine.

Sanyu is run by a group of women known as 'Mumma's', who meet the growing needs of these children every day. The Home heavily relies upon donations and volunteers to feed and care for the babies and this year, they have found this to be very difficult. So... we are giving up a chunk of our summer to go and love and serve the incredible 'Mumma's' in Sanyu and to speak Life and Hope into these tiny tots. Sanyu needs a constant supply of baby formula, nappies, wipes, steriliser tablets and disposable gloves, and is always looking for plastic toys, durable books and toddler shoes.

If you feel that you are able to donate any money towards this trip and the wonderful work taking place at Sanyu, we would be incredibly grateful... and we know that they will be too! If you don't feel that you can donate financially, but could somehow support with something materialistic, we will have a certain amount of space in our suitcases to take gifts.

Alongside funding this trip, we would also like to give as large a financial gift as possible, to help feed and care for these beautiful children and we would like to provide a gift for all the Mumma's to thank and honour them for the incredible work they do and the enormous blessing they are to these children. If you have any ideas of how this could be done, please do get in contact!

Thank you for reading this long post and for taking the time to consider the difference you can make in the lives of these wonderful children. You are beautiful... thank you xxx
