Story
IODPA is the only dedicated organisation that supports police officers that have been injured on duty through no fault of their own. Injuries can be mental, physical, or on occasions can be both.
They advise officers, who are going through the ill health retirement process, are applying for an injury pension, or are subsequently having their pension award reviewed.

3 years agoHello - an update on challenge. On Wed 2nd, set off from Ballater Police Office at 2 pm. Made good progress through the night. At 38.5 miles, felt unwell with dizziness, nausea and struggling to walk in a straight line. At Peterculter, with 8 miles to go, I had to stop. Additional time/distance negotiating fallen trees hadn't helped. BIG THANK YOU for your donations and support (£1150). I will finish the walk once I'm fit (feet tender). Gutted at being so close but charity benefits from attempt. Thank you - Keith

3 years agoThank you all for your donations and support - currently at £1020! I was ready at Ballater Police Office at 07.00 hrs this morning, contemplating starting my walk. However, having driven a short distance to get there, the wind gusts from Storm Malik were bringing down trees and branches. I waited until 10.00 hrs to see if conditions changed, but took the decision it was still too dangerous to walk through the many areas of trees. I am hoping to give it another go this later this week. Disappointed but better safe than sorry. Thanks again.
