Mop is a 30ish year old, long haired donkey. She has lived all of her life in a secluded spot on Sanday with very little interaction.

Recently, her elderly owner has had to rehome her due to some sad circumstances.

Mop was never handled much and needed a very special and understanding home.

I was fortunate enough to meet Karen recently who was actually looking for a donkey. She also has an abundance of skills to work with Mop and give her the best home. They have already bonded so much and Mop has gone from not wanting to be caught to approaching Karen when she enters the field and following her around.
Karen is also working on detangling Mops incredible coat and gaining her trust to be handled in all ways and be introduced to her existing small herd of horses and other animals.

The cost so far for Karen to travel to Orkney to collect Mop and relocate her to Dunkeld is over £400. The vet is visiting today to check Mop's teeth and take bloods. It is likely she will at least need her teeth rasping, worming... And possibly other treatments depending on bloods.

Any donations will help Karen provide essential care and hopefully cover some of her travel fees. She is doing an incredible job and I'd love to be able to contribute to her amazing care.

There will be lots of updates... Karen has spent so much time with Mop since she arrived home with her just a few days ago. It's an amazing story of bonding and gentle care.
