We are hosting Oxana (photo below) and her 16 year old son as they seek refuge in the UK from the war in Ukraine (pictured above with his dad).

Oxana’s huband is staying in Ukraine to ‘defend his city so Ukraine will be victorious’. She also leaves her elderly mother in Ukraine as ‘she does not want leave to her country which is her home‘.

We are asking for any donations to help them settle in and buy the things they need as they continue their lives in the UK.

We have competed all the paperwork for the Government’s ‘Homes for Ukraine’ scheme. They are waiting for their visas and hope to arrive in Leeds mid April. If for whatever reason they choose not come to the UK, we will use these funds to support another Ukrainian family who we hope to host. If the money raised is not needed for this purpose we will donate the money to the Ditater Emergency Committee’s Ukraine appeal.
