I've raised £5000 to Send Katie Toft to the World Cups

Dear Reader
My name is Katie Toft and I am 25 years old. I was born with Cerebral Palsy (CP) which affects all four of my limbs, coordination, balance, speech and also fatigue, though my intellect is intact, in fact I am doing a Masters in Education at Sheffield Hallam University.
I was bullied at school because of my disability - other children used to push me over or trip me up. One day I was even attacked with a knife on my way home from school.
I took up competitive cycling six years ago (although I had been told that I would never ride at competitive level). In February I was selected to compete on the British Team for the World Para-Cycling Championships and I won GOLD! So I am World Champion in my (C1) category. I have also won 4 National British Titles and 6 British Records.
Currently, I am coached by Barney Storey and I am on the Derbyshire Institute of Sport Programme; this enables support with Gym training over in Derby (a 3 hour round trip).
My goal is to compete in the 2020 Paralympics but to do this I have to gain points through the World Cup competitions. Up to now I have funded myself but my money has run out. Currently, I receive no funding from UK Sport or Sports Aid (and I will not be doing this season, as far as I am aware nor did I have any financial gain from becoming World Champion) therefore I work at a before and after school club but can only work part time because of my CP. The money raised will go towards Travel, Accommodation and Training costs for the World Cup.
I have been told to apply for a place at the World Cup, but cannot take it up unless I can get the funds together. If I don't do the World Cup, I will not be able to get the points for other events including the Paralympics.
With your help, I can keep my dream alive.
Thank you
Katie x
