Please Help Our Sister to Survive!!

Karolina is only 25 years old and has a 7 months baby boy called Kornel

Imagine that feeling when someone close to your heart became suddenly ill. The devastation you experience when the doctor stated that they need to fight for their life.

As you can probably imagine this is an awfully hard time for everyone, however we will do everything we can, to help our sister to survive! That’s why we would love to reach out to all of you, as you (yes You!) can play a big part and help.

Please let me tell you her story as my beloved sister Karolina Krawczyk wants to live and share happiness with her wonderful family.

Seven months ago, Karolina gave birth and the loving couple wished to have another child. They enjoyed every moment of being the first-time parents, unfortunately the entire world has stopped for them and their family when she was diagnosed with a brain tumour.

Karolina did not give up, quickly took up the fight and had an operation. The surgery lasted 7 hour and during the operation serious complications occurred. The doctors, besides trying to remove the tumour, had to fight for her life.

After the surgery, she came to the intensive care unit and when she woke up, right-sided paralysis with vomiting and worsening of logical contact was observed.

After some time, (as called by the doctors) the MIRACLE happened! Her condition was stable, and the decision was made to extubate (disconnect from the respirator). She could breathe on her own, the transient right-sided dysfunction ceased, and she could think logically again.

She was on the verge of exhaustion and took huge amounts of medication. She couldn’t function independently – she relied completely on her husband as she wasn’t even able to perform simple hygienic activities. She also had a huge eyesight problem and saw nothing for about 10 days.

After the 3 weeks in hospital she has finally came home and still had a long way to go. Karolina had to learn to walk and perform everyday activities again. She was awaiting the test results and a further treatment.

She tried her best to return to a "normal life". The doctors told her that it was a miracle that she was alive!

On August 29th the results came back, and she was diagnosed with: Malignant neoplasm of the cerebral ventricles (malignant brain tumour – a fast-growing cancer).

The doctors stated that the radiotherapy is necessary.

In order to continue the fight, the funds are required for a rehabilitation, long-term care, the costs of travel for further visits and those during convalescence.

The measures will give hope and prepare Karolina for every necessity (possible treatment abroad).
