Iʼm raising £4,000 to Help Zak and his family fight Cancer

Don't have time to donate right now?

Story

Zak is 9 years old, he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of bone cancer in July 2022. After several months of treatment involving chemo and radiotherapy at Alderhey Childrens Hospital Zak was able to return home and continue his life.

Unfortunately in early 2024 Zaks Mum and Dad recieved the devastating news that Zaks cancer had returned. Zak has now re started intensive chemotherapy at Alder Hey Childrens hosptial.

Zak is a little warrior and will continue to fight cancer as he did first time round. Zak is a very outgoing and fun loving boy, he loves playing sports and is a huge Manchester United fan. When he is not playing football he is enjoying the outdoors with his Mum Kirsty, Dad Danny and big brother Tyler.

During his time spent in hospital Zak has built up a bucket list. To help his family acheive his dreams, we are helping to raise funds towards his bucket list goals and to also support Kirsty and Danny throughout Zaks treament. At such a difficult time for the family we want to try and ease any pressure so Kirsty and Danny can fully focus on Zaks recovery.

For the remainder of 2024 Myself, Jo, Lora and Phil with the help of our friends at Try Fitness will be undertaking various activites to help raise funds for Zak. Our big event will be competing HYROX Paris in November.

We will log our progress on this page and keep everyone updated of our progress, by the end of the year we will aim to complete an event every month leading up to Paris.

We have already completed a Hyrox event in Madrid and a 10k race this year and have several things lined up in the months ahead in preperation for Paris.

Any funds that exceed our target will also be donated to Alderhey Childrens hospital in Liverpool.

Only a couple of days away from HYROX Paris - last training sessions going in this week. Our last event of the year so any support to get us up to the magic £4000 would be so much appreciated. We have nearly cancelled due to injuries but the push to support Zak has kept us going!

Our September event was the Fittest at the Farm at Farmers Strong in Bolton. A very humbling day that pushed us to the limits - massive thank you to Kathryn for stepping into the team on short notice!
