I am running/walking/crawling from Canterbury to Rome by foot over 59 days and a distance of around 2300km ( equating to a marathon a day) to raise hopefully £100,000 to be split between 3 registered Shetland Charities. I will be doing this solo ( unless anyone cares to join!) unsupported and carrying all of my equipment. I leave on 16th February so it will also be cold and wet. All funds raised will be split equally between the 3 unless you advise me otherwise (scarangar@hotmail.com). All expenses for the trip are being paid for by me and therefore 100pc of the the funds raised will be going to the 3 fantastic charities.

Mind Your Head (SC047357) which provides mental health support to those struggling with their mental health and those supporting people who are struggling with their mental health

Shetland Bereavement Support Service (SC0377830) which offers support to people in Shetland who are experiencing bereavement.

Walls Swimming Pool Association ( SC015623) which provides swimming and training within the Parish of Walls, Sandness and surrounding districts and are raising funds for a new wind turbine.
