Iʼve raised £2,391 to help towards replacing our existing Applewood 3G Arena and to convert The Swansway main stadium pitch into a "modern" community 3G Complex.

    Story

Nantwich Town Football Club is a semi-professional football club based in Nantwich, Cheshire, England. The club was founded in 1884 (one of the oldest in the country) and is nicknamed The Dabbers, a reference to the town’s tanning industry. NTFC prides itself on being a true community football club and exists to provide community football to all ages in the local and surrounding areas.

NTFC moved to The Swansway Stadium back in 2007 and the facility is over 15 years old. To the rear of the stadium is the Applewood Arena 3G facility.

Aside the Men’s first team and the Ladies first team, there are 43 other youth teams for boys and girls, starting at U8’s all the way up to U18’s, with most age groups having more than one team. There are also community football sessions from ages 4-11 every week on a Saturday morning, a fun and inclusive session for all and is delivered in a safe learning environment by qualified coaches.

There are also the following community focused NTFC affiliated teams that use the facility on a regular basis:

    • Pan disability

    • Partially sighted

    • Veterans

    • Walking football

    The Future Plan

The Applewood Arena (3G pitch) which currently hosts most of the youth and community football is 15 years old and urgently needs replacing, along with the surrounding fencing. The life of the Applewood Arena is extremely limited. Alongside this, NTFC are currently very short of capacity to host training and matches for the growing amount of youth and community teams that we have.

Our vision, funded by a fund-raising initiative is:

Replace the current main grass pitch with a brand new 3G pitch.

Replace the current Applewood Arena with a brand new 3G pitch & associated fencing.

This doubles our community football capacity which simply put, significantly increases revenue into the club.

    The headlines are as follows:

    • Increase number of youth teams to 80-100 with associated revenue from monthly subscriptions

    • Allow private hire to take place and be heavily promoted, with both weekly hire for 1/3 pitch for recurring revenue and full pitch hire for 90 mins matches with changing rooms and after match catering and bar facilities.

    • A newly launched Nantwich Town academy, in association with The Malbank School, for those that prefer a different academic pathway to A levels or BTEC etc. 20 people in the academy per year = £40,000 revenue. This new facility allows us to facilitate this with classroom learning at Malbank school 500m away.

    • Malbank additional overflow pitches next door.

Changing the main grass pitch to a 3G facility means there is no need to protect the grass pitch from overuse and churning, it can be used seven days a week and also makes first team postponements due to a frozen or waterlogged pitch a lot less likely.

In short, having two 3G pitches is a real game changer in terms of increasing playing capacity significantly, which in turn raises the profile of both Nantwich Town FC and our community football offering.

With a large amount of free parking and in-house café, with only a short walk to the town centre, we believe this is a compelling proposition and will put NTFC even more firmly on the map.

The NTFC Board are genuinely excited by this plan and the football related term “game changer” is very apt in this scenario. The feedback from the FA and other parties is very encouraging – so now we need to raise the money.

There is much more information on how we plan to do this and the various opportunities for everyone to invest in the club's future and this is available in our brochure and video, which is available to download via our club web site and whilst there are some bigger and longer term investment and share opportunities, every small donation and offer of support is greatly appreciated and goes a long way towards helping us to achieve our exciting and ambitious objective, which is why we have additionally set up this "Just Giving" page, to enable everyone in the community to play a part in our exciting future, and your donation, no matter how large or small is sincerely appreciated.
