Story

Team Seasoar, whose rowers are Niall Brannigan, John Watling, Sam Weber and Jason Wilder, in partnership with their Platinum Sponsors The EFT Foundation who have been right there with them from the start, are about to undertake an epic adventure and complete in the ’World’s Toughest Row - Atlantic'. In Dec 2024 they will be rowing from La Gomera in the Canary Isles to Nelson‘s Dockyard in Antigua.

An epic 3000 mile row which will probably see them capsize several times due to 20 - 30 feet waves; they will face incredible storms; they will row a ‘2 hours on, 2 hours off’ around the clock rota for up to 7 weeks with an average 1.5 million row strokes. Rowers will burn in excess of 5000 calories see their skin pull away on their hands and behinds, as they are subjected to salt sores and blisters, losing 8-10 kg in weight. Why?

We aim to become Lyme Disease UK's largest ever fund raiser, a cause very dear to one of our rowers. John's daughter Yasmin suffers from chronic Lyme Disease and has done for the last 5 years.

It's evident that this disease needs further significant research and suitable treatment for all.

We are also raising funds for The EFT Foundation (our platinum Sponsors) which is the charitable foundation of the EFT Group. They provide all kinds of support to local communities and have an unrivalled approach in making a real sustainable social valued difference. We are pleased to have them on board with us.
