Iʼve raised £1,000 to help The Warriner School in Bloxham educate and inspire their students for life after school.

    Story

For the last 12 months I've been working with Nigel Smith, careers lead and the team at The Warriner School as their Enterprise Advisor to help the school prepare their students for careers and life after school.

I've been amazed at what Nigel and the team achieve on a very tight budget and this budget is getting tighter due to reduced funding for all schools over the coming years.

In September of this year I'm planning to swim lake Coniston, end to end, a distance of just under 10km in refreshing water of 14oC. This will be a real personal challenge as two years ago I struggled to even swim 25m in our local pool. I'm looking for generous sponsorship of my swim to raise money to help Nigel and the team at The Warriner School invest in even more inspiring and enriching events for the students at The Warriner School.

A big thank you to everyone who sponsored me for my 51/4 mile swim end to end in Lake Coniston, Lake District to help support inspiring and preparing today’s youth, for tomorrow’s world of work, at the Warriner School in Bloxham. I safely completed the swim on Saturday in 3 hours 20 mins and here’s the photographic proof that I did indeed enter and exit the lake as part of the “pink” wave. Once again thank you and I promise not to seek sponsorship for anything for a couple of years, at least, I’m far too knackered! Tnx.
