I have always been an animal lover and had a passion for animal welfare in the UK and the rest of the world.

After careful research to find a non-profit organisation which fulfills my wishes, I have signed myself up to volunteer at a Wildlife Sanctuary in Costa Rica this Summer. I will be volunteering at the Sanctuary for 2 weeks and also plan to do a Skydive whilst in Costa Rica to raise awareness and as much money as possible for the cause!

Alturas Sanctuary Mission Statement

The Alturas Wildlife Sanctuary is a facility that receives animals that the government of Costa Rica confiscates from any type of illegal situation. That is usually the illegal pet trade or illegal domestication by people. We also receive abandoned or orphaned baby and adult animals that have been injured but survive. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and release them back to their natural habitat and to provide sanctuary for those animals that cannot be returned to their natural habitat because of disability, injury or severe over-domestication. We also work to educate and enlighten the people of the world about the amazing animals of Costa Rica!

Where will your money go??

Alturas Wildlife Sanctuary have an animal quarantine area, a nursery for the very young and separate rescue enclosures for those animals that will be released back to their natural habitat once healed.

All funds and donations go 100% to the care and attention to the animals. They also have a full functioning medical clinic where all medical procedures are performed.

All donations received at the Alturas Wildlife Sanctuary including the volunteer fees contributes directly to helping the Sanctuary and all the costs associated with operating the facility with the ultimate objective to help the wildlife and return them back to their natural habitat when possible.
