    Story

Dolomiti Extreme Ultramarathon - June 2024

We are two friends who share passion for trail running. It’s been our ambition to run ultramarathon to push our limit and discover strength within ourselves.

Type 1 Diabetes is a cause that is close to our hearts. We believe that everyone deserves to live fulfilling lives, and that no one should have to suffer in silence. By running this ultramarathon in Dolomites we hope to raise awareness and funds for this vital cause.

The ultramarathons captivate us for various reasons. It's the ultimate test of physical and mental endurance, pushing boundaries and proving that limits are often self-imposed. The profound experiences along the way shape us into stronger, more resilient individuals. Each step is a testament to the indomitable human spirit, a reminder that the journey is as significant as the destination.

Children with Type 1 Diabetes going through similar journey which requires their determination and courage.

Living with Type 1 Diabetes involves a daily balancing act that extends beyond the ordinary routines of life. They must constantly monitor their blood sugar levels, administer insulin, go for routine visits to healthcare professionals for comprehensive diabetes care, including eye exams, kidney function tests, and monitoring for potential complications. The emotional toll of managing a chronic condition is significant. Coping with stress, anxiety, and the potential fear of hypoglycemic episodes is part of daily life.

Imagine a world where children and adults alike are not burdened by the constant challenges of managing blood sugar levels, insulin injections, and the ever-present concerns about their health. This is the world we aspire to create, and your support is the key to making it a reality.

Your donation will empower us to provide vital resources for those living with Type 1 Diabetes Together, we can ease the journey of those facing the daily struggles of this condition.

Your contribution, no matter the size, is a step towards a future where Type 1 Diabetes is a thing of the past.

Money raised will be donated to Diabetes Gibraltar to support kids educational and emotional growth

    With heartfelt appreciation,

    Joanna & Nicky
