Story
Joachim died peacefully on 26th April 2020 at Cheltenham General Hospital after contracting Covid-19. It was only a month after his 66th birthday.
An international company director, mentor and friend to many, Joachim leaves his wife Tricia, sons Michael, Piers and Toby, and granddaughters Ava, Florence and Edith.
His absence will be a huge loss to his family and to the many close friends who loved him most dearly.
Donations given in loving memory to help support the doctors, nurses and staff in the Intensive Care Unit at Cheltenham General Hospital, who continue to battle so bravely against Covid every day, and who provided such love and care to Joachim, will be able to fund their future educational needs.
Also the fund will be supporting, as part of Joachim's legacy in business, the seed capital to help others on their business journey to go out and realise their ambitions in starting a company. This will be distributed and supported through his son's End of 9 to 5 project.

5 years agoMany thanks everyone for your support and generosity to Joachim’s Memorial Fund. We have now reached our original objective which has meant we can put £40,000 towards supporting new business enterprises and £15,000 to Cheltenham ICU to be used in nurses’ training. We will keep this page updated as to how the money is distributed and which future businesses will be supported by the fund. Tricia x

5 years agoJust to let you know that we’ve almost reached our target as one of our donors has given £5000 directly to Cheltenham Hospital. So only another £870 to go........what a fantastic achievement! Thank you for giving so generously to Joachim’s Fund. Love Tricia x

5 years agoYesterday we were able to say goodbye to Joachim at a service held in the Vale Crematorium, Evesham. Although Covid regulations meant that only a few people could attend, many more were able to view the service online. It was such a beautiful, sad and evocative occasion for us all. We were able to recount Joachim’s many talents, and also acknowledge the large number of tributes the news of his death has received. Thank you for your generous donations to his Fund - and we will keep you updated on its future distribution. Love Tricia x

Great loss. A truly wonderful guy. I enjoyed working with him at ARCO Chemical Co. He gave me my first mini-tour of London including a stop at a countryside pub. I’ll always remember him fondly.
