Story
The time has come for the four of us to head off to the Himalayas to take on the exciting and somewhat nerve-racking challenge of trekking to Everest Base Camp. Over the course of 15 days we will make our way from Kathmandu at 1,300m, work our way up to base camp at 5,364m and then head back down- covering a total of approximately 130 Kilometres each way.
What started as a huge personal challenge for us all has now taken on even more meaning as we hope to raise money for a very important charity that we became involved with through our training journey. In October last year we were guided through the mountains of Les Gets by Tony Soutter and his friend Matt. The pair generously gave up their time to help us train and during our trek we learnt how Tony has set up the Ellie Souter foundation in memory of his daughter who he tragically lost in 2018 on her 18th birthday. Ellie was a Team GB athlete who was one of the most progressive Junior Female Snowboarders in Great Britain. The foundation has been set up to support promising ski and snowboard athletes, both financially and mentally, to help them fulfil their potential and achieve their dreams. More info can be found at The Ellie Soutter Foundation
We have been working hard to prepare for our challenge and would love your support if possible to help push us through any of the tougher days – Details of our just giving page are below and we will keep you updated on our progress over the coming few weeks.
Thanks for all your support!
