Iʼm raising £15,000 to fund Jimmy Brown having an operation to keep him from a wheelchair

Don't have time to donate right now?

Story

Hi to all of you.

I am reaching out on behalf of Jimmy Brown who was a professional footballer from the late 1960s through to the early 1980s. He is best remembered for his six year stint at Aston Villa. Signed aged 15 years old in 1969, Jimmy was thrust in to the first team not long after, making him the youngest ever player to appear in Aston Villa's first team which was before his 16th birthday. By aged 19, Jimmy was captain of the first team. Jimmy left the Villa in 1975 after being frozen out by Ron Saunders and moved on to Preston where he played alongside such greats as Bobby Charlton and Nobby Stiles as well as a young future Villa legend Tony Morley. Jimmy later played in Greece and then back in Scotland for Hibernian plus a short spell with Portsmouth.

Jimmy lived in Birmingham for a big chunk of his post playing career before moving out to Spain seven years ago. Unfortunately for Jim, since moving his health has deteriorated and as such can only walk one or two steps.

He desperately needs an operation on his hips. The waiting list out there is very long and due to financial constraints, Jimmy cannot go private, so that's where we come in.

Am asking for any donation you can afford to keep Jimmy out of a wheelchair. It does not matter how small, it all helps and hopefully between us, we can raise the money Jimmy needs to literally get back on his feet.

I went to visit him late last year and it was awful to see him in so much pain. With Jimmy too proud to ask for help himself, I have took it upon myself to try and raise some money for him.

So c'mon on you football fans especially the Villans all over the globe, let's help another Villan. A Villan whose name will be forever etched into the history books of Aston Villa FC as youngest appearance maker and captain.

Let's do this for Jimmy Brown!!
