Story
Nine year old Jesse is raising money for Frome’s Missing Links. He chose FML because it’s something that people can use as a family. He likes that people can cycle, walk or run without having to worry about sharing the paths with cars. Jesse and his family use route 24 regularly for family bike rides and he cycles alongside his Mum when she goes running.
The plan has been a while in the making whilst he decided on a fitting challenge. First of all, he sold at a car boot sale at Frome Market in the hope that some of the toys and books he’d grown out of would go towards his fund raising. His efforts raised £21.50 to add to the big event. The event is a 6-hour stationary cycle-athon that will be held on Sunday December 3rd at Frome’s Venue – 23 Bath St.
The Big Challenge: Jesse will start cycling at 10am and finish at 4pm. There will be 2 bikes set up so others can come and join in to support him, take over when he needs a break, or just cheer him on! There will be at least one bike cycling at any time during the 6 hours.
Jesse’s family will be there to support him and take on some of the cycling. It would be great for people to come and encourage him on the day, there will also be a table of goodies and cakes for sale.
It’s Independent Market day and The Venue will be holding their Winter Warmer that day, with warmed Winter Pimms, hot chocolate and awesome tunes to warm your souls!
There will be a collection tin at the event on the day.

7 years agoWe continue to be amazed by the amount of support for Jesse's challenge. He did amazingly on the day, surpassed all expectations and did it (mostly) with a smile on his face! I don't think he appreciates how well he did. Between the money he raised on the day, donations through the Frome's Missing Links website, and his crowd funding, we estimate that he has raised just over £500! His Just Giving page will be open until 31st December if you would like to donate. Thank you all very much to those that have donated so far :)
