Story
I Have Set a NEW Challenge to keep this Momentum Going - Great Scottish Run 1st October 2023
While my Target for this is £25,000, the overall Cost is £250,000, Ava Family have raised £180,000 so far. Ava is currently undergoing intensive chemo and radio, has no immune system and completely isolated from her family, Please donate/sponsor my running challenge so we can help this poor girl and family.
Scott and Natalie Bolton have revealed how their “whole world collapsed” when they were told that their cheeky, chatty and active little girl Ava, three, has an extremely rare childhood cancer.
The family, including big brother Lucas, five, were given the devastating diagnosis of stage 4 high risk neuroblastoma after hoping that their girl's unusual symptoms were just a virus
Ava started to become unwell just after her 3rd birthday and over Christmas, becoming lethargic and vomiting. Alarm bells were ringing with her Mum and Dad when this normally active wee girl was refusing to walk and developed bruising. In January 2023 Ava was sent to Crosshouse Hospital where medics were convinced that Ava had a condition known as Transient Erythroblastopenia (TEC), which they believed was caused by a previous virus and would pass over time. Specialists in Glasgow ordered further tests and the family’s worst fears were confirmed when they were told their daughter had cancer. Ava was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called Neuroblastoma in which she only has a small chance of survival unless she receives treatment that is only available in New York USA.
Ava has already been through so much, but she is just at the beginning of her treatment, with surgery, further intensive chemotherapy, stem cell transplant, radiotherapy and immunotherapy still to come.
Her treatment will last at least 18 months.
Yes, I am going to pull on your heart strings, help me to help Ava and her family I have made a commitment to help this family,
My fundraising event will be to help Ava's family to raise £250,000, this is the amount required for her life saving treatment. Ava’s family have currently raised £180,000 which on its own is a lot of money however they still have a long way to go. I would ask if you can dig deep.
I completed my walk, no normal walk, a trek round Galloway Forrest, wild camping all the way, starting in North Ayrshire, entering East Ayrshire down to Dumfries and Galloway eventually returning up through South Ayrshire before returning to North Ayrshire, in total will be just over 197 miles over 10 days. I am now running in the Great Scottish Run on 1st October. For those that don’t know, I reached my 60th in March this year, so this is certainly a challenge for these aging bones, in reality, nowhere near the challenge that Ava and her family have to go through.

On May 29th May I completed a solo 197m walk around Galloway Forrest South West Scotland, in aid of raising Money for this. To continue my effort of taking the overall fund to £250,000, I have entered into the Great Scottish Run, my feet have only just recovered from the walk
