Three years ago I had an accident that resulted in a Traumatic Brain Injury. I was in various hospital wards throughout my recovery before being moved to the Plym Neuro Rehab unit at mount Gould Hospital.

I received first class care during my stay but I never had a good shower! The showers on the unit were (and still are, I have been told) in need of updating. During my stay patients lucky if the get a trickle of warm water and the shower heads would flop forward, as if showering with a broken brain wasn't difficult enough.

I spoke to a nurse about the shower situation and she explained that the showers could not be updated due to funding. I decided that I would like to raise funds for new showers when I had recovered. Recovery has been a roller coaster ride and showers have been the last thing on my mind, but I made a promise and I would like to keep it.
