Jenny’s Christmas Day Fundraising Walk

On Christmas Day I will be walking from Newry to Richhill to raise money for the Acute Services Fund in Craigavon Area Hospital. Due to the ongoing pandemic donations have significanlty dropped. The money raised will go towards Patient comfort care.

In the past my school (Jenny Chambers School of Speech and Drama) have raised magnificent amounts of money for various charities. In particular the Acute Services Fund, Southern Hospice in Newry, Friends of the Cancer Centre, Cancer Focus and Kilkeel Lifeboats. Unfortunately this year we were unable to hold our yearly fundraising concert.

As most people in Richhill know I love walking with my dog Lucy. A few weeks ago I was stopped by a gentleman over the Ballygroobany Road who said to me, “you must walk a marathon a week”. In actual fact I walk a marathon every two days. The gentleman said “Imagine if you got £1 for every mile, you could raise a lot of money”. This got me thinking well this is my opportunity to do something to help others. As a few of my close friends and family members have been cared for by the Acute Services Fund very recently.

I understand families have been hard hit by the pandemic so please know I appreciate every penny given.

Just a little message to say a massive thank you for all your kind and generous donations. Please excuse me for not thanking you all individually as I have received so many monetary donations and also an amazing amount so far on my Just Giving page. I can't thank you all enough❤️

My Mum has got so excited for this she is even going to follow me on her Zimmer Frame (or she so thinks she is). I told her I want to be home before the end of 2020 but at least her intentions are good🤣🤣
