Disability support

Story

It started 4 years ago when I tried to return to Uganda to live and it was during my search for a school for my daughter who has Downes Syndrome that it became evident that there was a lack of resources and awareness of therapeutic services that are vital with any child with a disability. It is a national shame that our children are often hidden out of sight, sent to the village or many don’t attend school and families are left to their own device.

We have opened a therapy centre to offer speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, physiotherapy and we are working in partnership with local health professionals and schools to refer children to any of the various services that may be of use to them.

In order to provide a good quality of service we need funds that will help to pay the staff and bills and also help to support children from very disadvantaged backgrounds.
