Freddie, 15, is a good friend and fellow Winchester Rugby Club team mate of Benedict. He made a mistake during the summer holidays with petrol and fire and suffered 50% burns. He was taken from Hampshire to Swansea to the Intensive Care Unit at the Welsh Centre for Burns and Plastic Surgery in Morriston Hospital. He was in an induced coma for 10 days, has endured serious infections and numerous operations and skin grafts since. Due to the fantastic care he has received he has been able to leave Intensive Care and whilst still in Swansea is now on the road to recovery.

I'm not a big runner but for the last few years I've done the Great North Run as its my home town! This year I'm going to dedicate my run to Freddie's recovery and to raise some funds for the The Welsh Centre for Burns and Plastic Surgery. This specialist unit covers a huge area from Wales to Oxford and Portsmouth. I don't know what they will use the money for (they don't even know I'm doing it yet!) but in these difficult days for our NHS I''m sure they will need it for something.
