Alex has been diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma of the leg and hip. Ewing's Sarcoma is a very rare form of bone and soft tissue cancer that affects children It only affects around 30 children in the UK each year. Alex's treatment is risky and complex involving complicated surgery of his femur, acetabulum, hips and pelvic bone. After Alex receives this life saving treatment required he must deal with the impact of such radical surgery and associated treatment to cure him of this his rare and aggressive form of childhood cancer. This money is to assist with his long term after care, rehabilitation and to enrich his life as a cancer survivor.

Even if the surgery is deemed a success Alex will have significantly reduced functionality which means he will have to deal with being unable to walk without the use of walking aids or he may be confined to a wheelchair.

We have successfully raised previously to give Alex the holiday of a lifetime when he is strong enough and to ensure he can have the life saving treatment against the Cancer in the United States.
