Story

Our good friend Jef Woodhouse, also widely known as DJ Pete Baker - who bought joy to many whilst DJ'ing on radio and in clubs such as Silks, was suddenly taken ill last week and sadly passed away suddenly the following morning, leaving behind him two children and many heartbroken friends.

Jef was a fighter. In 2013 he suffered two strokes and an aneurysm whilst on holiday, which left him needing permanent care. He fought on though, remained upbeat and fought hard, often beating the odds that faced him.

It has been left to his daughter to organize the wake, and as times are hard for everyone all round, I felt it would be helpful to organize a fundraiser to help sort out the venue, catering and music for what should be a celebration of Jeff's life. I set the initial fundraiser at £250, figuring that should cover a basic room hire dj and buffet, but thankfully you lot are amazing and have almost reached the total within half a day, so I've added a little bit more to the total, just to ensure all is covered smoothly. Of course, should there be any leftover funds, they will be donated to Newlands House charity, which is the home that looked after Jef for the last few years of his life.
