Iʼm raising £10,000 to Support Roy Larner - The Lion of London Bridge. To cover script development for a movie and the costs associated with finding a home for it.

Don't have time to donate right now?

Story

We are thrilled to announce development of the big screen adaptation of THE LION OF LONDON BRIDGE. The true story of a genuine working class hero and the shameful injustice served on him by the British establishment.

STORY

On June 3rd 2017, three machete-wielding terrorists deliberately drove a rented van into pedestrians on London Bridge before they began rampaging through Borough Market slashing, stabbing and murdering people in and around the pubs and restaurants.

As the horrific events continued to unfold, the terrorists arrived at The Black and Blue restaurant where they came face-to-face with a lone Millwall fan who refused to back down. His name was Roy Larner.

Despite being unarmed, Roy took on the terrorists and in doing so, sustained numerous life threatening injuries. His actions undoubtedly saved many lives but they also changed his and if you’ve read this far, you probably have a good idea of how his life unfolded after that fateful night.

It’s a dramatic and emotional story of a working class Englishman who showed unspeakable bravery and who, against all the odds, has somehow managed to drag himself back from the brink and begin rebuilding his life. But it’s a story that doesn’t just need to be told, it has to be told.

PUBLIC SUPPORT

Getting an independent movie into production is never easy, and when it comes to telling a story like Roy’s—one that some powers might not want to see brought to the screen—it can feel like an uphill battle. But we’re committed to making this film a reality, and with LEO GREGORY (Green Street, Screw, Wild Bill) already signed on to play Roy, and a powerful script coming from DOUGIE BRIMSON (Green Street, Top Dog, We Still Kill the Old Way), plus Roy and his team, we know we’ve got the determination, experience, and ability to make this movie happen.

But to do so, we need to approach this project differently. And that’s where you come in. We’re looking to raise £10,000 to cover script development and help secure a production home for the film.

WHY CROWDFUNDING?

Right now, we’re funding everything ourselves. We’ve already started reaching out to potential industry partners but these things take time so we’ve decided that to speed things up, we’re appealing directly to you—Roy’s army of supporters. And if we’re successful, it will be a testament to how, even when obstacles are put in front of us, the working class can break through and make things happen—just as we always do.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

We can’t guarantee awards, but we can promise you this: every one of us in the creative team is 100% committed to bringing THE LION OF LONDON BRIDGE to life as quickly as possible. We’ve made great progress already, and with your help, we’ll be unstoppable.

By pledging whatever you can, not only will you help fund the script, but you’ll become part of the team—and part of the story itself. A story that, like the film, could have a real impact on the country.

Thank you for your support. Let’s make this film happen together.
