This is my daughter, Amy, she's 6 years and attends Doonfoot Primary School. Amy struggles with communication and benefits hugely from the specialist unit contained within the school. The function of the Communication Base is to support children in their development and in time, aims to help them integrate into mainstream classrooms. The highly skilled team do an amazing job and Amy has made significant progress since beginning there in August last year. Amy loves school, is in her comfort zone and we couldn’t have wished for a more positive transition into primary education.

This year, I am taking part in my first ever Tough Mudder race on the 17th June and I plan to raise funds for this essential facility within the school. Doonfoot Primary and its community have been a god send in their support of Amy and her friends in the base. I hope to raise as much money as possible for the base to provide further resources for the children and have set a target of £500.00. Any donations would be greatly appreciated, the money will be put to fantastic use in supporting our young children.
