Jane, a Midwife/Theatre Nurse and Sister was the life and soul of the operating theatres, having served the NHS at the Royal Stoke and Spire Healthcare at The Regency in Macclesfield for many years . Jane touched the hearts of many people, her wicked sense of humor and kind heart kept friends and colleagues smiling throughout many a long shift. Her vast skills and knowledge were respected by those that worked with her over the years, and you knew you were in safe hands if she was in your theatre. After spending her life taking care of other people Jane contracted Covid and ended up at her former hospital The Royal Stoke, sadly Jane passed away on 28th February this year. In addition to this tragic loss Jane's husband Simon is also in hospital battling covid. They have three beautiful daughters who are experiencing the most difficult times of their lives, so in memory of our dear friend and colleague, myself and Matthew Hiscock are entering the Cheshire Ring Race 26/27th June 2021. The challenge is to Kayak 96 miles around the Cheshire Ring Canals in a 24 hour period. All money raised will go to Jane and Simon's children to support them during this time.
