Story

The play area is in need of a repaint, has recently had arson damage, has a gap where 2 rockers could be and space for one other new play equipment. There is only a wet boggy path connecting the bridge near Morrisons and the main park path and in the arboretum the path from the substation to the bridge is very poor. There is no seating in Bolton arboretum This is all in Longsight park, Bolton. The Friends of Longsight Park require funds to help renovate this park for locals.

We have picked up masses of litter and worked with the council to improve paths and seating in one part of the park and we have created 3 flower beds but there is lots more to do and the recent damage to the play area is awful.

It costs about

£300 pa in bedding for the flower beds,

£1200 for a rocker in play area, there is space for 2 and for one other piece of play equipment also needs painting throughout

£500 for one metal bench (others are destroyed) and in arboretum where there is no seating

£3570 for arboretum footpath repair

£2035 for new footpath from near Morrisons bridge to main path

£300 for a wood carving

£2000 for noticeboard for Bolton's arboretum (situtated in Longsight park)

since posting this crowdfunding and despite running an annual loss (made good by friends donations), we have secured some funding from central government to improve Bolton's arboretum which is situated on Bradshaw Brow at the far end of the park. We need to contribute to this sum and hope donations to this site will continue so the play area for children can be much improved. Please help us move this park up.
