Story

I am a Guide and Ranger leader in Cheadle, Staffordshire. One of our Rangers, Sam, and Poppy, a Guide, have been selected to represent the county on an international trip to Iceland in 2023. It's a huge honour to be selected to participate in one of these trips - in 2011 I was fortunate enough to lead a similar trip to Switzerland, and I have seen the young women I took blossom and succeed in every aspect of their lives. I know these trips are life- changing. They teach resilience, tenacity, team-building, confidence - I could go on and on. The girls need to raise £2,000 each, so if I can raise just £500, giving them £250 each, it would go some way to helping them experience the trip of a lifetime.

To raise this money I have decided to take on a half marathon - running 21km or 13.1miles around Lake Vyrnwy in mid Wales on Sunday, September 18, 2022. I only started running last August and this will be a huge undertaking for me as I'm aiming to do it in under two-and-a-half hours... Please support me!
