I am Anna, and I arrived in the UK after the beginning of the war.

I am writing this on New Year's Eve, the most significant Ukrainian holiday. I just read that my city, Kyiv, was bombed, and is still being bombed. The Russians want to turn off our power and make life unbearable for us. Ukrainians proved that we all have our inner light, but we need a little help now.

I have no running experience at all. Moreover, I hate running, but I will try to do it because we need to raise money for generators. We need Ukrainian babies to be born, our soldiers to fight, and our people to be cured.

We were told, "You have no other option but to surrender." We say, "We have no other option than to win." - Zelenskyy.

Each generator costs £1200, and we are trying to raise money to buy two.

Along with Jane, our host, we are asking you to be more Zelenskyy.

I am Jane, Anna’s host. I thought I had hung up my running shoes, but along with Anna, I thought it was a way to not just raise money, but also keep Ukraine in our minds and show our Ukrainian visitors that we still stand with them. Instead of asking you to just give money, which I appreciate is a big ask in itself. I would like to ask everybody who is able, to buy a T-shirt and wear it, to come and run with us, or support us from the side lines on the 25th of February. Anna and I are looking to get around and with no time records set, but to show Anna, her family, and the people of Ukraine, our love and support. The generators will be taken to Ukraine by our friend David, who runs Ukraine1st charity.
