Story
Sadly our lovely Jamie passed away too soon on Friday 16th Oct 2020.
We had found happiness together and I can honestly say that the time we’ve had together have been the happiest and most peaceful of our lives. We had plans to grow old together in Wales, though joked about what a grumpy git he would make! He never wanted to grow old - he remained vain until the end and we often laughed about who spent the most money on lotions and potions (he definitely won that one!)
Jamie was loving, caring and compassionate. He had a strong sense of right and wrong and loved a good rant. He had a naturally artistic flair and didn't realise how talented he was. It was so lovely to hear last week that he had won The International Property Award for Best Residential Interior Apartment for London. We are all so proud of what he achieved.
Those closest to him will know that sadly he’d battled alcoholism since he was in his mid 20s, and despite long periods in recovery, the alcohol got the better of him in the end. He fought so hard to beat it. It’s such an evil disease. When he did relapse he would drink “to turn his head off”. He didn’t enjoy drinking or want to drink.
The funds raised on this platform will go towards setting up a Memorial Fund in his name to help support those in recovery and other causes that Jamie was passionate about. My hope is that this will turn into something much bigger - I have to believe that something good will come out of this.
If anyone out there is struggling with their mental health, please find the help that you need. It’s a sign of strength to ask for help, not weakness. Having the courage to take responsibility for our own lives. Jamie did that. Sadly it wasn’t soon enough. I hope that people can learn from his short time on this earth.
In the words of one of his lovely clients "The world will be a darker place without the light and colour that was Jamie".
Love you always Jamie. J x

4 years agoThank you so much to everyone who has donated to Jamie's memorial fund. I've just been through all the donations and beautiful messages and can't tell you how much your kind words and thoughts mean to me and the family. To date we have raised an amazing £4345 (£530 offline) which will support those seeking recovery from the disease of alcoholism as well as their family and friends. I can't tell you how much this support means to people who are struggling to find their way and will make a difference to others. Jan x
