Story
I am planning on running the Great Scottish Run (Half Marathon) on Sunday the 2nd of October 2016.
I hope to raise as much money as possible to donate to the Schiehallion Ward at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children (formerly Yorkhill Hospital).
Late May 2016, 13 year old Cameron Smith was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. As Cameron's PE teacher it came as a unwanted surprise to us all within the school when we were given the news. Having known Cameron and his family personally from living just a few doors away, it was a huge shock to me.
However knowing the type of positive boy Cameron is, it is no surprise to hear how well he is currently doing. At the moment Cameron still has a long way to go, with 9 months of treatment left , which will last 3 years overall. Having spoken to Cameron's parents, and spoken to Cameron personally, they cannot speak highly enough of the treatment Cameron has received from all the staff in the Schiehallion Ward 2a Unit.
It is as a result of this I would like to raise as much money as possible to donate to this specific ward for the excellent work, kindness and compassion they have shown over the last few months towards the Smith family.
I hope you can all help me reach my target.
