Story

Jahvon was a loyal and dedicated member of the Fu Jau Academy Family. He joined the Academy in 2008 when he was only 15 but didn't compete until he was 18 unsure of his ability but 10 years on, his determination and perseverance culminated in Jahvon becoming the 2021 WAKO K1 Kickboxing British Champion. The support and love shown by the Fu Jau family really boosted Jahvon's confidence over the years and had a positive impact on him.

Jahvon, I will miss you brother. You raised everyone's game around you and was a humble warrior." Coach Berry. Fu Jau

May you find comfort in knowing that Jahvon left a massive, positive impact on all of us and will never be forgotten." Master Bedlow. Fu Jau

In Jahvon's honour we will be completing a sponsored 13 mile walk at Seven Sisters, Seaford on his 30th Birthday on 30th April 2023 inspired by this photo taken in 2018.

All monies donated will be used to fund a local student with a 1-year Fu Jau Scholarship. We are raising this in honour of Jahvon as he always supported and helped many younger Fu Jau warriors when they joined. This will be a beautiful tribute to Jahvon's legacy and create an amazing opportunity for another young Fu Jau warrior. FU JAU #FUJAU4LIFE

“Fu Jau a fantastic martial arts school with superb instructors, a really friendly environment, and welcoming of people at all fitness levels. Their new purpose-built club in Thames Valley Athletics Centre is a great place to train! The class schedule has something for everyone including women’s only kickboxing, sessions for children at different ages and abilities and a range of adult’s classes including MMA. If you haven’t tried martial arts before don’t be scared, Master Bedlow, Coach Berry and the rest of the Fu Jau family will look after you and help you find your inner warrior. :-) Sarah Collison 3 months ago

A Celebration of Jahvon Fu Jau

Sunday 30th April 2023💚💜💚

Firstly, a humble thank you, to all the wonderful people for donating and supporting this cause, it is so very appreciated, and I cannot wait to get our first Fu Jau student on board. I apologise for the delay in posting our results, the emotions from the day were overwhelming.

So, the day finally arrived, I had to battle Covid for the run-up week, after escaping it for 3 years, it finally caught me, but nothing would have stopped me from my son's 30th Birthday Walk.

Words really cannot express the love and admiration I have for all the support shown on the day, from the youngest walker, my gorgeous nephew Reign age 4 to the many that had ailments such as hip surgery and asthma, I salute you all for the courage and determination shown.

It seemed so long ago when I had last visited Seven Sisters on the 3rd of September 2022 and after reaching the top of the Seven Sisters Cliffs to look into the distance and state "I want to walk to that lighthouse over there" in that moment a seed was planted, and it culminated into the challenge today.

I never expected it to be as difficult as it was, more so due to Covid. But for all that participated the avalanche of emotions we all experienced from the physical, emotional, and mental. It created a moment in time so incredibly special and I was truly honoured and humbled by everyone that dug deep and achieved this challenge.

Thank you all, you really are amazing, and I will always remember this moment every year thereafter when celebrating my amazing inspiration of a son, Jahvon💚💜💚
