Rico is 3 and a half years old and was diagnosed with spastic diplegia, a form of cerebral palsy that affects him waist down, in November 2016. He has tight muscles and high tone and uses splints everyday to help him walk. He attends physio every month and has numerous paediatric specialists. Although this diagnosis was heart breaking, Rico is nothing but determined and tries his utmost to join in and succeed in every part of his life. He is always smiling and has such a positive outlook, as well as his charming smile and mischevious ways!
At the beginning of August this year, Rico attended a trike assessment to determine if a special trike would benefit Rico and help improve his muscle and tone to enable him to walk and participate in everyday activities to the beat of his ability. Unfortunately these trikes are not NHS funded so here we are fundraising for my incredible boy.
