UPDATE 19th April 2022: We have combined the amount raised on this page with cash donations taken at the funeral plus further cash donations from friends and family. In total we have raised £2740! We are overwhelmed by the generosity in memory of Mum and to support these incredible teams. The funds are being donated to St Johns Hospice who will allocate to our requested teams.

On Friday 25th February 2022 our dear Mum, Jacster, passed away .

In the last few weeks of Mums life we met some shining lights in the Palliative Care and District Nurse teams. They went above and beyond to care for Mum at home and instantly warmed to her sharp wit and humour that was still in full force at the hardest of times.

The nurses within these teams, especially Nicola and Andrea, formed a special bond with Mum which gave her great comfort in the reality of what she was facing.

When the end of Mum's life was suddenly upon us, much sooner than we expected, they took control and things just happened...they offered support, guidance and friendship during the hardest times, day and night, they made the unknown feel safe.

Those final weeks in the lead up to Mums death made us truly realise the greatness of the unsung heroes within the NHS. We are forever grateful to them, and I know she would be too.
