Story

Trusted Breaks & Charley Bubbles Ltd. are planning to deliver day care and respite care for families and carers to have a short break. We are in the Glenrothes, Fife area.

Background:

For 20 years Jacqui Lowe provided care in the community for Fife Council and other agencies whilst dedicated her life to looking after her daughter Charley who had very profound complex needs. Sadly, Charley passed away last September 2016 .

Charley was the oldest young lady to have had Edward syndrome, in Scotland . Charley and Jacqui championed the cause for all children with heart conditions and syndromes who may have been refused surgery in the past by successfully raising the profile of this group. Children from across the globe, who may not have been considered for surgical intervention, now have more opportunities to access certain surgical procedures. Charley lived for 20 years. She was a living miracle.

Jacqui states,

"In fact, the pathologist involved with Charley suggested that her case will remain referenced in his histology. Charley ate orally spoke a few words and walked - EVERYTHING THE MEDICAL PROFESSION SAID SHE WOULDN'T DO . With Jacqui's loving care and determination Charley survived for twenty years.

Jacqui and John (her partner) have setup Trusted Breaks & Charley Bubbles Ltd to offer day care and respite care to support other people who have disability and complex needs. The facility offers top quality care supported by a team of professional, dedicated people.

Where we are today:

In the past six months we have developed our office facility through the help and support from local charitable givers. We have achieved a major part of our sensory garden by sourcing, recycling and by up cycling as much as we can.

We have a two-bedroom facility which is almost completely ready to take clients into our care packages, including hoists, wheelchair access and wet room.

Fundraising:

The funds will be allocated to provide free short respite breaks or day care for people who may not be able to fund the requirement for care and support, regardless of the reason.

Thank you for taking the time to look at our page, and for supporting this much need respite house.
