I've raised £10000 to develop Rosslyn Special School multi sensory playground

Rosslyn school is a special school for learners from 3 to 18years with profound and complex needs. Our outdoor space is crucial to the development and wellbeing of our learners. Yet our resources are limited in meeting the vast range of multi-sensory needs of our learners. Over lockdown staff researched play equipment that will be more inclusive and stimulating. They have designed zones to help learners make choices depending on their needs and emotions. There will be an action zone, calming and quiet area, memorial space, dark and sensory area, music activities, water play, mud kitchens etc. The greatest expense will be installing a ground level trampoline that is wheelchair accessible. Equipment in our playground needs to be robust, safe, accessible, and inclusive, and this comes at a cost. We need your help to ensure our learners have a happy, healthy life, with amazing experiences every day!
We are fundraising as a group of families and staff by walking to Lapland by the last week before the Christmas holidays. We will walk the equivalent 1200 miles. Active schools Fife are encouraging families to get out walking as lockdown has impacted the health and wellbeing of everyone. Our hope is that the fundraiser will give that extra bit of motivation for families and staff to get outside and feel the benefits of walking both physically and mentally.
We are also putting £5000 of school funds into the garden project to get us started. The cost of the trampoline alone will be about £5000. So we want to reach for the stars and hopefully you can support us in our huge effort to make the lives of our learners truly amazing!
