Story

The Scooby Doo Dash

On 27th April James Acey will be running the Manchester Marathon dressed as Scoobie Doo.

James was a friend and football teammate to both Thomas and Jack, he will be running the marathon to raise funds for their respective memorial funds.

"On April the 27th I will run the Manchester Marathon in a Scooby Doo outfit inspired by Tom’s brilliant Scooby Doo impression that he used to do. I was a friend and football teammate to both Tom and Jack Stabler who we sadly lost too soon. Two very kind, enthusiastic and dedicated young men as well as being extremely talented footballers. I want to honor their legacy of hard work and resilience by taking on this challenge. Thank you for your support!"

The Jack Stabler Memorial Charity is dedicated to honouring the life and legacy of 17-year-old Jack Stabler, a young man who embodied a love for sports and an unwavering commitment to helping others. Jack's passion for sports was surpassed only by his love for his family and friends, and he was known for his infectious smile, positive attitude, and willingness to help others.

Our mission is to provide local amateur sporting organisations with the resources and experiences necessary to pursue their passions in sports, while instilling in them the values of teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship that Jack embodied throughout his life. Through our work, we hope to inspire a new generation of athletes who share Jack's love for sports and his dedication to helping others.

As a team player, Jack was a true leader, always inspiring his teammates with his enthusiasm and dedication. He understood that success was not just about individual achievement but also about working together towards a common goal. He always put the team first and went above and beyond to support his teammates both on and off the field.

Off the field, Jack was known for his kindness and generosity. He had a heart for helping others, and he was always looking for ways to make a positive impact in his community. Jack's compassion and selflessness were evident in everything he did, and he left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Through our work, we strive to create opportunities for the local community to pursue their dreams in sports, just as Jack did. Our ultimate goal is to continue Jack's legacy of love for sports and people, inspiring others to strive for excellence in sports and in life, while also giving back to their communities.
