I've raised £20000 to help fund medical treatment

My name is Ally Woolridge, and I’m writing this on behalf of my husband - Jack. Jack is a father, son, brother, core family member and good friend.
Just days before our 1 year wedding anniversary, and only 2 months after the birth of our first baby, Jack was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer and our lives were turned upside down.
Jack’s story
In April 2023 Jack, at the age of 28, started to experience pain and lost his ability to walk and care for our new born son. After several appointments we were told: It’s cancer - a large tumour in his left thigh. While we dealt with the initial shock, after multiple tests he was eventually diagnosed with a rare type of cancer known as spindle cell rhabdomayoscaroma.
By the end of April, further test had revealed what we had all feared, the cancer was not only in his leg, but it had spread to other parts of his body too.
Jack started his chemotherapy journey not long after his diagnosis, which is a highly aggressive 9 cycle schedule. But this tumour type requires specialist treatment where the chemo alone is not enough. We would like to try a specialist stem cell treatment but unfortunately, the treatment that Jack needs is not included via the current healthcare system in the UK, meaning we are having to fund the testing and treatment ourselves. At the moment Jack is unable to work and while I’m on maternity leave, our income isn’t enough to allow us to go ahead with the treatment.
We are doing everything we can to keep Jack with us and prolong his life so that he can be here to watch his son grow up, take him to football matches and make family memories.
This is where we’d like to ask you for your help. We are aiming to raise funds to get Jack the specialist treatment he needs. Please share Jack’s story and help us reach our target so that we are in a place to start the treatment. We understand that times our hard at the moment, and it’s difficult for us to ask for help, but we would be grateful for anything you can contribute, and sharing this page is hugely appreciated.
Being able to get this treatment would be a huge step forward for Jack. The hope is that it helps slow down the spread of the cancer and to stop it growing elsewhere in his body. This should then allow the chemo to do its thing and destroy the remaining cancerous cells.
With time being against us, we aim to get this supportive treatment as soon as possible, this would greatly improves Jacks chances.
Thank you for reading his story and for your support.
