Story
I am running the great Manchester run in order to raise money for our trip to Uganda.
I am part of a team of 14 Withington Girls’ School students who are travelling to Uganda in October 2018 to continue the ongoing charitable work of our school in the Glory Be Nursery School. This school is particularly special as it has a specific Special Needs section to provide education and activities for children who are usually ignored by African society. Many of these children are severely disabled. Our aim is to raise funds in order to buy fencing to protect the children as well as complete the staff quarters, which were started by the previous year.
We will also be donating to other Ugandan movements such as GIASCO, which provides residential care to street children and former street children who are now living within communities, Sonrise orphanage for orphaned babies and Wanyange Girls’ School, which provides girls the opportunity to get the education that they may now otherwise receive.
Thank you in advance, all donations are greatly appreciated no matter how small.
All of the money raised will be used to directly support these establishments.
