Story
As we all know, climate change is a real and immanent threat to our planet. The deteriorating status of our environment has been ignored for too long, and time is running out. It is imperative that more action is taken to help preserve the natural life forms suffering most from the impacts of this global tragedy, which is why a small group of students, including myself, from my school, Newstead Wood, are travelling to Mexico in the summer of 2020.
We will be partaking in a two week environmental and wildlife conservation and research expedition with the organisation Operation Wallacea, (https://www.opwall.com/ here's a link if you want to find out more about the wallacea foundation, their work is both important and fascinating.)
In order to raise the funds to go on this trip I will be running the Manchester Marathon on the 5th of April 2020 as well organising many other events as a group such as a live music night, Christmas supermarket bag packing and much, much more! I have been working weekends at a local cafe as well as tutoring and babysitting to help pay for this trip but hope to fundraise the rest of the moeny to make up the difference!
