Story
On Sunday 28th April Isabella took her last breath after an eight and a half year battle against neuroblastoma. Our beautiful, courageous and fearless little girl, who despite what she went through, always had a smile on her face.
A big part of the reason for that smile was Acorns in Walsall. A place that Isabella loved to visit when she was well enough to be out of hospital and quickly became a second home to her. This is because of the wonderful building and what’s inside and more importantly the incredible and heartwarming staff and volunteers that make Acorns what it is, a safe haven full of joy and laughter and love. Their support over the years to Isabella and to us as parents has just been incredible and without them at this time we just dont know what we’d have done. Acorns only receive one third of their funding from the Government, so, to keep their doors open and their invaluable support ongoing donations ate always needed.
We will be celebrating Isabella’s short but incredible life on Thursday 23rd May. We would like to respectfully ask for family flowers only. If you did want to send flowers please could you donate here instead or on the day to Acorns who need our financial support more than ever. Isabella was such a kind and caring little girl, always wanting to help those that didn‘t have much or needed help and would love for us all to help Acorns in her name. Isabella is now resting at Acorns now and is still being well looked after by us and a bunch of people that loved her so very very much. She looks so beautiful and peaceful as she always has done whenever she walked through the front door.

6 years agoWe’re doing this despite our heartbreak of losing Isabella as Acorns meant so much to her. She would not have wanted any child, volunteer or member of staff at Acorns to be impacted by what is being proposed. We’re doing it to honour her and in her memory. Isabella was and always will be an Acorns girl and that will live on forever.

6 years agoWe’ve been completely overwhelmed & blown away by all your kind donations to help save Acorns. Together we can try our very best to help keep this vital & invaluable service going for so many children like Isabella. Please continue to share as far & wide as possible or do what you can to help us save Acorns here in Walsall. If there’s one thing we know that Isabella would have wanted, it would be for Acorns to carry on doing what they do so well, looking after so many children and their family’s in the unique way only they do...with love.

6 years agoToday (4th June 2019) we heard the devastating news that Walsall Acorns is facing imminent closure and a consultation with the staff there is underway on a proposal to cease offering services from the Acorns hospice facility in Walsall. Please donate if you can to help us to help Acorns stay open, time really is of the essence! If you can‘t donate then please help us to raise awareness of their plight and the importance of keeping Walsall Acorns open and to keep on doing the vital and life-saving work they have been doing for the last 20 years.
